Karsten is a senior executive and academic leader with extensive experience in higher education, public-sector service, and workforce-focused learning. Over a career spanning more than two decades, he has served in roles including President/CEO, Vice-President Academic/Provost (COO-equivalent), and dean-level leadership positions, leading large, multi-site organizations through strategy development, operational modernization, governance improvement, and measurable growth in program reach and revenue.

Martin Sanchez, In-House Legal Council (Americas)

Martin serves as In-House Counsel for the Bison Institute, where he leverages over a decade of legal expertise to guide the organization’s strategic and regulatory initiatives. With a career rooted in both the private and public sectors, Martin brings a sophisticated understanding of how legal frameworks intersect with policy and community development.

Prior to joining the Bison Institute, Martin spent three years as a Political Advisor to Diputado Alfredo Anaya Orozco in Mexico. In this high-stakes legislative environment, he provided the critical legal analysis and strategic recommendations necessary to shape effective policy. His background also includes significant work in the public sector with SEDESOL, where he managed federal social programs focused on community wellness and social justice.
